But when you pack everything away for the winter, it's important to prepare your gazebo and protect it from the elements. Check out our most commonly shared tips on extending the life of your gazebo.
Tips on winterizing your gazebo:
- When fall comes to an end, sweep the leaves and dirt from the floor and walls of your gazebo.
- Remove cobwebs and clean spaces to ensure pests don’t make their house there during the winter months.
- Hosing down the gazebo will help remove debris that you may have missed while sweeping. Focus on cracks and crevices.
- Use a soft-bristled brush to remove algae, mold, and mildew. Clean with warm water and mild liquid detergent. It's important to never use a wire brush, as it will scratch and abrade the gazebo.
- Remove the curtains and store them for the winter.
- Always remove any excess snow from the gazebo roof as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Make one final check for loose screws and use your screwdriver to tighten them.
